I thought it was about time I tried to make an aeroplane. So, ladies and gentlemen, I offer you the Beagle Pup:
It is still in early development, and there is much to do, but it is pleasantly flyable.

FGADDON: https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/fg ... eagle-Pup/
Obviously it will appear in FGMEMBERS once the sync with FGADDON happens.

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Not too many low wing Light GA in FG I welcome more of these.
Re: Beagle Pup Development
The puppy is in the paint shop:
@IH-COL: I have a few tweaks before I commit and commits to FGADDON that include images are a bit of a PITA when using git svn so this won't get uploaded until next week. Consider this link to be a preview that will be overwritten when you clone FGADDON:

Stuning.
Thanks G-SHOZ
I already cloned the FGADDod Pup, and redistribute it on FGMEMBERS.
When you update the FGADDon, the changes get "inherited". If you let me know when you update, I can update off-cron (off schedule) and give tests, and prepare for my USA Tour flight.
On my second and third trip I did notice that taxiing can be challenging in the Pup, as in "dangerous". Sometimes is just kind of overreacts on the ground and surfaces could hit the ground, killing you at an instant with a message like: "the left wing touched", or alike, and I am like "Whaaaat? If Im just taxing at 15KTS GS...
Other than that is a challenging and fun little monoprop.
Thanks G-SHOZ

Re: Beagle Pup Development [crossposted]
I need to look at the ground reactions - I appear to have a variant of the bouncing bug that affects some JSBSim aircraft. I've seen even well established aircraft like the L1049h and 707 do it to some extent, but they just tend to bounce up and down on the nose gear. The Pup bobbles and bounces around.
I added structure contact points on the airframe with a crash detect system (these are the messages you are seeing) but these should only be triggered during a crash. Something is applying exceptional forces that cause the airframe to overreact and fire the crash detection. (Crash detect only pauses the sim, by the way, you can try and power through it by unpausing with "p" but it can get sprung 1000ft into the air. )
I've searched for similar and I couldn't find a clear explanation. Perhaps the location of the contact points (wheels) or spring and damping coefficients on the gear struts?
