KL-666's Map of developed Airports

Postby IAHM-COL » Tue Nov 03, 2015 2:01 am

Hi All

One of the greatest FG tools to plan a fun route in FG is KL-666's developed airport map.

THE MAP OF DEVELOPED AIRPORTS

It features a complete map indicating airports that contain static objects, specific and particular to the airport of interest (that is, airports with only SHARED objects are excluded). The map updates once a month with newest airports being added.

Also, very handy, the map classifies the airports according to both the size of aircraft capable of land there, and the NAVAID that the location has available for the pilot's guidance.

So... next time you are unsure what route you want to complete, and if you want to enjoy Terrasync scenery in all its Glory, pay a visit to KL-666's map as one really awesome Flight-planning tool (for the decision stage)

Have fun

IH-COL

And KUDOS to Vincent!

Thanks for enjoying the map.

I fear that i can not update the map before the festival this month. To update i need the shape files from http://mapserver.flightgear.org/shpdl. But that site is momentarily broken, stating: "Service degraded due to disk failure".

For the festival i have added LSGG manually to the map. AFAIK it is the only new airport in Switzerland/Austria.

Kind regards, Vincent
