JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
Hi All
To facilitate the import of future data into the JAFVA mySQL database, pilots are going to be reporting future flights in the newly adapted PIREP form
JAFVA PIREP FORM
If you are not a JAFVA pilot, but wish to become one, simply complete a PILOT request, so you can get assigned and ID, and a Tailsign, that you can use to begin flying
JAFVA NEW PILOT FORM
Best,
IH-COL

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
what is My ID?!!
Your JAFVA ID is a 3 number code identifier unique to each pilot. To find it, just look at the Pilot's Roster,
the field says JAFVANNNN where N is any number. The first three numbers is your ID.
Example
For IAHM-COL it says JAFVA4243, therefore IAHM-COLs JAFVA ID is 424

Re: JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
In the PIREP, what should I fill in, if I land anytwhere in nirwana away of any airport?
Re: JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
ZZZZ for unassigned ICAO, or NULL for no airport at all
That is how the database store it. But I can fix it for you after submission.

Wow, that was a lot of work to catch up! Thanks for all the time you've had to spend on that mammoth job. The new system sounds great.
Have you changed the qualifying hours for each rank?

Take a look at the roster: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... bSvkk/edit
Re: JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
I've seen the roster, I just thought the qualifying hours for each level might have changed. First Officer, for example: I don't recall it being an odd 40 minutes, i.e. 96h40. First Officer Entry is 3d8h, which is 80 hours, and that makes sense.
Second Officer levels appear to be 36h now, but I thought they were 40h before, or maybe 30h?

Re: JAFVA: A multiplayer Scene (3)
I noticed I,ve got a problem in hours to rank. I'll check what I typed. I believe the time left to promotion to be correct: it's calculated with python's date time functions, which is a great way compared to the previous spreadsheet's method.
Next step is to make a dynamic website that fetches the MySQL database directly so I also reduce mistakes of transposing values by hand.
Semiautomatic time managent was critical to catch-up, and it should facilitate a more regular update, which benefits the JAFVA Community's communication, as well as myself on the admins' end

@Sanni and @Sanhozay
I made a mistake transliterating that column. All other fields are, to the extend of what I see, correct.
Now I corrected the "minimun time in Rank" fields, to reflect correct values -- which had not changed.
(I kind of like keeping the rules of the game steady )
