Roger! I'll have to find two airports so I can cover most of the 300NM...

Thanks.

the events is 48h so you can actually offer ATC in times that are more focused for the east-Asia population :)

(and/or European "early-risers")

Using SkyVector, I figured out the SHANNON, SHANWICK, and WALLASEY boundaries.

Any resources to draw the TALLA and the MORAY boundaries?

I believe that I transition people into WALLASEY / TALLA / STAFA / EAST at FL285 or below, and if they are above that, I transition them to MORAY?

Great question.
Realistically speaking the traffic above your control level (FL285) is not within your airspace so you could not bother to/ bother with them.
But if they contact you, I think there's is not harm to allow them to process as planned under your radar

Code: Select all

NKS2254: Scottish Spata, Spirit wings 2 2 5 4 with you travelling to "Southend", FL three three zero, via UL612, Spirit wings 2 5 4
EGPX_ST: Spirit 2 5 4, Radar monitoring active. Continue your own navigation. Report if requiring descend at or below FL285, Scottish Spata

This way you establish contact. Allow the pilot to know they are free to continue as previously cleared following their flight plan, and the need to let you know if they will penetrate your airspace

When leaving your zone, kindly remind the pilot

Code: Select all

EGPX_ST: Spirit 2 5 4, you are exiting my area, Contact Davenport at (insert freq here), have a safe flight.

This way, you did not control the traffic out of your "zonal inverted airspace cake" but at least you let the pilot know when or how to re-contact you if needed.

A pilot knowing your limits may just fly above your airspace without bothering you. This case you do not need to tell them

Code: Select all

EGPX_ST: Lufthansa 5 you are entering my airspace, please state intentions

Cause really, at FL290 he/she actually did not enter your airspace ;)

Just another consideration. There is a flying club, fguk i believe, that base somewhat around Beatles Town. Would EGCC not be to close to them, if they decline to be controlled? Or would EGCC have enough tolerance to let them be?

Kind regsrds, Vincent

we talk this morning about this. The idea is trying to establish a lateral/vertical NOTAM where bot EGCC and EGBB will avoid shifting traffic towards.
I think basically keep Wales or N. Wales as FGUK territory. Mostly.

Ok, but i hope they like to adhere to the notam. Better contact them about it. Or else the EGCC needs a lot of tolerance.

Kind regards, Vincent
